Shubha Jagannatha // Adieu, Pixar
Adieu, Pixar
My journey to 1200 Park Ave began on a 16-hour flight that took off in 2005. About 14 hours into the grueling affair, I blinked twice to wet my drying eyes, stuck a grubby finger onto the in-flight entertainment screen, and rewound an enchanting movie titled Finding Nemo for an eighth consecutive rewatch. I wanted to exist in that world forever.
I resurfaced from my Finding Nemo-induced bender (into a world disappointingly absent of talking fish) with an enduring itch to build worlds other people might want to exist in—pockets of reality holding a dose of connection, empathy, and awe, delivered with great love and care.
Getting to be here, at this place, with these people, doing this thing is something I have never and will never take for granted. Thank you, village of Pixar, for raising me for the past three years.
